Tips on air travel with kids
Travelling with kids is one thing and travelling with kids by air another! I would prefer road travel any day over air or rail when my kiddo is in tow but for long distances, you can’t help but choose air travel. As a parent, it is difficult to manage your hyperactive child and expect her to not jump around. find the loo empty just in time. convince the kiddo that the plane is flying and cannot stop just ‘coz she wants it to. keep her engaged. coax her to sleep on an overnight flight. look the other flyers in the eye when your kiddo is at her shrieking best. The…

3 days in London- what to see & do! My post for Trip Expert Awards-2017
London is a perfect tourist destination and considering the number of sightseeing attractions it boasts of, it is difficult to cover all in just 3 days. So why am I writing this, you ask? I have been nominated by Simran from Tripscam for ‘Trip Expert Awards-2017’ and asked to take up the challenge of drafting a 3-day London itinerary. Thank you Tripscam, it is an honour to be nominated. Just the kind of encouragement bloggers like me need! So, here is my 3-day itinerary of one of my favourite places on the planet and trust me, if you follow my guide, you might just feel that 72 hours in London can be…

The silent battle-Why I now react less and talk lesser!
There was a time when hardly anything could keep me quiet. I just loved to talk, whether chatting with my friends or dishing out a sweet yet sarcastic remark to someone who dared fling a taunt my way in a verbal battle. The very same ability to articulate without any hesitation or deliberation helped me win a great many debate and declamation contests in school. but then, that was school. Thereafter, life happened! As of today, I sit and listen to discussions but do not want to opine even when my heart is vehemently opposing the thought being discussed. The rising intolerance and self-centrism make us think that what we…

Kasauli-the perfect summer getaway! Sightseeing and tourist attractions.
Himachal is the land of majestic mountains and spectacular landscapes. A colonial hill station situated at a height of 1900 metres above sea level, Kasauli is the perfect summer destination for travellers like me who shy away from overcrowded hill stations like Shimla. Barely 60 kms from Chandigarh, Kasauli is an enchanting little town which still retains the colonial fervour and a laid back charm. Mountains never fail to mesmerise me and that is exactly what a weekend in Kasauli did to me- awed me and left me wanting to return soon! A great retreat For the people who reside in plains, there can be no better place to get…

Monetize your blog through influencer marketing platforms-I did!
Although it sounds simple, blogging is a difficult job. Writing in itself is a task that demands a lot of dedication and hard work. Untangling those intertwined threads of thoughts and spinning them into words that not only justify the thoughts but also appeal to the readers requires a lot of efforts. Add to it the management of the technicalities of a blog, and you understand that blogging is not a walk in the park. On top of it, if you want your blog to earn you some money as well, you are in for way more drudgery and resilience. My first ‘paid’ assignment When I started writing, it was…

Great dad (s) vs Shitty mom (s)!
In these ”revolutionary” times when all of us champion the cause of gender equality, differences still remain, even in the field of parenting! It takes so little for a dad to be crowned as a great dad or a mom to be branded as a shitty mom on the other hand. I am unapologetic as I say this but it is unfortunately the closest friends and family who judge and pass these verdicts. I am absolutely not against dads and agree that fatherhood is tough too but if you say, equally tough as motherhood, I would NEVER EVER agree. Nor would any other mom, for that matter! Read on and…

Road trip with kids- survival tips!
Vacations are fun and especially so when you and your partner love travelling. No matter how much you may expect and pray for your kids to inherit the same passion, it is not always so. A road trip with kids is not a simple road trip! Especially if your kids are under 10, it is simply futile to expect them to share your love for watching the fields go by and reflecting upon life! Getting them to stay put inside an enclosed space with little activity possible is a feat in itself! My husband and I, who used to undertake road trips exceeding 1500 kms together, learnt this the hard…

30 days into #MyPediaSureJourney- fighting fussy eating habits!
Last month, I wrote a post titled ‘Why I recently bought a health drink for my child’. Frankly, at that time, it was just another attempt as a mother, to try and ensure proper nutrition for my daughter who is a fussy eater. What she likes today, she shuns the next. But a month later, the dark cloud seems to have a silver lining. Maybe it is too early to really comment and point out, but I do see subtle changes. When I introduced my child to PediaSure Nutrition, I started with the Premium Chocolate flavour and the prompt acceptance of the same made me stick to it. I understand…
